Dosage (summary)
Adults: 10-20 mL (120-240 mg) every 4-6 hours as needed; do not exceed 60 mL (720 mg) in 24 hours. Children: Dosage based on weight; consult a healthcare professional.

Onset of action typically occurs within 30-60 minutes, with a duration of effect lasting up to 6 hours.

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Use with caution during pregnancy; Codeine may cause respiratory depression in the newborn. Not recommended during lactation as it can pass into breast milk.
Key Drug Interactions
- Alcohol may enhance the sedative effects of Promethazine.
- Concurrent use with other CNS depressants can increase the risk of respiratory depression.
- Paracetamol may interact with warfarin, increasing the risk of bleeding.
Contraindications
