Indication

Prevention of VTE and treatment of DVT/PE.

Dosage (summary)

RIVOXA 10: 10 mg once daily; RIVOXA 15: 15 mg once daily; RIVOXA 20: 20 mg once daily.

Special Populations

  • Elderly
  • Renal impairment
  • Hepatic impairment

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

Contraindicated in pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Key Drug Interactions

  • CYP3A4 inhibitors
  • Other anticoagulants
  • NSAIDs

Contraindications

  • Active bleeding
  • Severe hepatic disease
  • Hypersensitivity

Common side effects

  • Anaemia
  • Dizziness
  • Haematoma
  • Gastrointestinal bleeding

Counselling Points

  • Take with food for RIVOXA 15 and 20
  • Monitor for bleeding signs
  • Do not double doses if missed

Serious warnings

  • Increased bleeding risk
  • Monitor for signs of bleeding
