Indication

Treatment of infections caused by susceptible organisms.

Dosage (summary)

Adults: 250-500 mg twice daily for 7 days; Lyme disease: 500 mg twice daily for 14 days.

Special Populations

  • Renal impairment
  • Hepatic impairment

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

Safety in pregnancy and lactation not established; may cause diarrhea and fungal infections in breastfeeding.

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to cephalosporins
  • Hypersensitivity to penicillin
