Indication
Management of moderate to moderately severe pain.
Dosage (summary)
Adults: Initial 50 mg, then 50-100 mg every 4-6 hours. Max 400 mg/day.
Special Populations
- Elderly
- Renal impairment
- Hepatic impairment
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Not recommended in pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Key Drug Interactions
- MAO inhibitors
- CNS depressants
- Serotonergic medicines
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to tramadol
- Children <12 years
- Postoperative use in children <18 years
- Acute intoxication with CNS depressants
- Severe respiratory depression
Common side effects
- Nausea
- Dizziness
- Somnolence

- Take as prescribed, do not exceed dosage.
- Monitor for signs of misuse or addiction.
- Avoid alcohol and sedatives.
Serious warnings
- Risk of respiratory depression
- Serotonin syndrome
