Indication

Dosage (summary)
One tablet daily for 28 days, starting on the first day of the menstrual cycle.

- Renal impairment
- Hepatic impairment
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Not indicated during pregnancy; not recommended during breastfeeding.

- Enzyme inducers
- Some antibiotics
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to active substances
- History of thromboembolic events
- Severe hepatic disease
- Severe renal insufficiency
- Undiagnosed vaginal bleeding
- Known or suspected pregnancy
Common side effects
- Headache
- Nausea
- Breast pain
- Fluid retention
- Hypertension
Counselling Points
- Use barrier contraception with certain medications
- Monitor for signs of thrombosis
- Does not protect against STDs
Serious warnings
- Increased risk of thromboembolic events
- Monitor for hypertension
- May exacerbate migraine
