Indication

Relief of acute attacks of gout.

Dosage (summary)

Initial: 0.5-1 mg orally, then 0.5 mg every 2 hours until relief or GI symptoms occur. Max: 6 mg in 3 days.

Special Populations

  • Renal impairment
  • Hepatic impairment
  • Elderly patients

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

Contraindicated in pregnancy; use with caution during breastfeeding.

  • P-glycoprotein inhibitors

  • Hypersensitivity to colchicine
  • Pregnancy
  • Severe renal impairment
