Indication

Emergency treatment of acute attacks of gout.

Dosage (summary)

1 mg initially, then 0.5 mg every 2 hours, max 6 mg.

Onset of Action / Duration

Onset: 0.5-2 hours, Duration: 3-7 days between courses.

Special Populations

  • Elderly
  • Renal impairment
  • Hepatic impairment

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

Contraindicated in pregnancy; use with caution in breastfeeding.
