Indication

Indicated for mild to moderate infections caused by susceptible organisms.

Dosage (summary)

Adults: 500 mg once daily. Children: 10 mg/kg once daily for 3 days.

Special Populations

  • Hepatic impairment
  • Renal impairment
  • Elderly

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

Use in pregnancy only if clearly needed; caution in lactation due to secretion in breast milk.

Key Drug Interactions

  • Ergot derivatives
  • Warfarin
  • Digoxin

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to azithromycin or macrolides
  • Severe hepatic impairment
