- Hypersensitivity

- Oesophageal abnormalities
- Inability to sit upright
- Paediatric use
- Hypocalcaemia
Common side effects
- Abdominal pain
- Dyspepsia
- Oesophageal ulcer
- Musculoskeletal pain
- Headache
Counselling Points
- Take with a full glass of water
- Remain upright for 30 minutes
- Do not take at bedtime
- Avoid food and other medications for 30 minutes after taking
Serious warnings
- Risk of osteonecrosis of the jaw
- Severe oesophageal reactions
- Hypocalcaemia exacerbation
