Dosage (summary)

Adults: Starting at 3% concentration, adjust as needed. Children: Not for induction; maintenance 5.2-10%.

Onset: 2-4 mins, Duration: variable.

Special Populations

  • Renal impairment
  • Hepatic impairment

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

Not established for safety; avoid in obstetric procedures.

Contraindications

  • Known sensitivity to halogenated agents
  • Malignant hyperthermia susceptibility
  • Severe hepatic dysfunction
  • Paediatric inhalation induction

  • Laryngospasm
  • Hypoxia

Counselling Points

  • Avoid driving for 24 hours post-anaesthesia
  • Do not breastfeed until fully recovered
