Indication
Topical antibiotic for external bacterial infections of the eye.
Dosage (summary)
Eye drops: 1-2 drops every 4 hours for mild infections; 2 drops every hour for severe infections. Eye ointment: 10 mm ribbon 2-3 times daily for mild; every 3-4 hours for severe.
Special Populations
- Patients with neuromuscular disorders
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Use in pregnancy only if benefits outweigh risks; caution in breastfeeding due to potential adverse reactions in infants.
Key Drug Interactions
- Caution with systemic aminoglycosides
- Avoid with neuromuscular blockers
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to tobramycin or excipients

- Ocular discomfort
- Ocular hyperaemia
- Headache
