Indication

Dosage (summary)
One tablet daily for 28 days; start on day 1 of menstrual cycle.

Not indicated during pregnancy; not recommended during breastfeeding.

Contraindications
- Thromboembolic disorders
- Severe hepatic disease
- Severe renal insufficiency
- Undiagnosed vaginal bleeding
- Known or suspected pregnancy

- Headache
- Nausea

- Hypertension
- Fluid retention
Counselling Points
- Use barrier contraception if pills are missed
- Regular medical check-ups recommended
- Does not protect against STDs
Serious warnings
- Increased risk of thromboembolic events
