Indication

Dosage (summary)

One drop in affected eye(s) once daily in the evening.

  • Elderly population
  • Hepatic impairment
  • Renal impairment

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

Not recommended during pregnancy; use with caution in breastfeeding.

Key Drug Interactions

  • Other prostaglandin analogues may reduce IOP-lowering effect

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to bimatoprost or excipients

Common side effects

  • Conjunctival hyperaemia
  • Ocular pruritus
  • Eyelash growth

Counselling Points

  • Avoid contact of dropper tip with eye
  • Remove contact lenses before use
  • Monitor for changes in eye appearance

  • Potential for permanent iris pigmentation
