Special Populations

  • Hepatic impairment
  • Renal impairment

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

Contraindicated in pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Key Drug Interactions

  • CYP3A4 inducers decrease efficacy
  • CYP3A4 inhibitors increase plasma levels
  • Warfarin may increase INR

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to gefitinib or excipients
  • Pregnancy
  • Breastfeeding

Common side effects

  • Diarrhoea
  • Skin reactions
  • Interstitial lung disease

Counselling Points

  • Take at the same time daily
  • Do not double doses
  • Report severe diarrhoea or respiratory symptoms
