Indication

Adjunct to diet and exercise for glycaemic control in type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Dosage (summary)

Start at 0.6 mg daily, increase to 1.2 mg after 1 week, max 1.8 mg.

Special Populations

  • Elderly
  • Hepatic impairment
  • Renal impairment

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

Contraindicated in pregnancy and lactation; not recommended during breastfeeding.

  • Sulphonylureas
  • Insulin
  • Warfarin

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to liraglutide
  • History of pancreatitis
  • Type 1 diabetes mellitus

  • Nausea
