Indication
Control and symptomatic relief of acute and chronic non-specific diarrhoea.
Dosage (summary)
Adults: 2 tablets initially, then 1 after each loose stool. Max 8 tablets/day. Children 6-12 years: 1 tablet initially, then 1 after each loose stool.

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Safety in pregnancy not established; not recommended during breastfeeding.

Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to loperamide
- Children under 6 years
- Acute dysentery
- Acute ulcerative colitis
- Bacterial enterocolitis
- Pseudomembranous colitis

- Constipation
- Flatulence
- Headache
- Nausea
- Dizziness

- Stop if no improvement in 48 hours
- Use caution when driving
- Report any severe side effects
Serious warnings
- CNS toxicity risk in hepatic impairment
- Risk of toxic megacolon in AIDS patients
- QT prolongation in overdose
