Indication
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in children and adults, and narcolepsy.
Dosage (summary)
Initial dose is typically 18 mg once daily, may be adjusted in increments of 9 mg weekly; maximum dose is 54 mg per day.
Onset of Action / Duration
Effects may be observed within 30 to 60 minutes after administration, with a duration of action lasting up to 12 hours.

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Methylphenidate is classified as Category C. Use during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. Caution is advised during lactation as it is excreted in breast milk.
