Indication

Vaginal infections caused by Candida.

Dosage (summary)

Single dose of 5 g inserted vaginally at bedtime.

Special Populations

  • Adults
  • Children 12 years and older

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

Use in pregnancy is not established; avoid in first trimester. Discontinue breastfeeding during treatment.

Key Drug Interactions

  • Tacrolimus
  • Sirolimus

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to clotrimazole or excipients

  • Allergic reactions
  • Abdominal pain
  • Genital irritation
  • Vaginal haemorrhage

Counselling Points

  • Insert cream deeply at bedtime
  • Avoid vaginal intercourse during treatment
  • Monitor for allergic reactions
