Indication
Vaginal infections caused by Candida.
Dosage (summary)
Vaginal Tablet: Insert deeply at bedtime. Cream: Apply 2-3 times daily.
Special Populations
- Pregnant women
- Children 12 years and older
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Use during pregnancy only if prescribed; avoid in first trimester. Discontinue breastfeeding during treatment.
Key Drug Interactions
- Increased tacrolimus and sirolimus levels
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to clotrimazole
Common side effects
- Allergic reactions
- Abdominal pain
- Genital peeling
- Pruritus
- Burning
- Irritation
Counselling Points
- Insert vaginal tablet deeply at bedtime
- Avoid sexual intercourse during treatment
- Use additional contraceptive measures
Serious warnings
- Seek medical advice if symptoms persist after 7 days
- Avoid during menstruation
- Do not use with tampons or vaginal douches
