Serious infections caused by susceptible organisms.
Dosage (summary)
Mild to moderate: 150 mg every 6 hours; Severe: 300-450 mg every 6 hours.
Special Populations
- Renal impairment
- Gastrointestinal disease history
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Use in pregnancy only if safer alternatives unavailable; contraindicated in breastfeeding.
Key Drug Interactions
- Erythromycin
- Vitamin K antagonists
- CYP3A4 inhibitors
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to clindamycin
- Infants <30 days
- Pregnancy and lactation safety not established
Common side effects
- Pseudomembranous colitis
- Abdominal pain
- Diarrhoea

- Discontinue if severe diarrhoea occurs
