Indication
Short term use in treatment of hyphaema and coagulopathies.
Dosage (summary)
1.0 to 1.5 g every 8 hours for traumatic hyphaema; adjust for renal impairment.

- Massive upper urinary tract haemorrhage
- Thrombotic tendency
Common side effects
- Dizziness
- Visual disturbances
- Nausea

- Advise against driving if dizziness occurs
- Monitor for visual changes
- Use effective contraception during treatment
Serious warnings
- Risk of convulsions
- Monitor for thromboembolic events
- Avoid intramuscular injection
