Indication

Monotherapy or add-on treatment for partial and primary generalized tonic-clonic seizures.

Dosage (summary)

Adults: Start 25 mg daily, increase to 100-200 mg/day. Children: 0.6 mg/kg daily, max 400 mg.

Onset of Action / Duration

Onset: 1.4 to 4.8 hours, Duration: 25 u00b1 10 hours

Special Populations

  • Renal impairment
  • Hepatic impairment
  • Elderly patients

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

  • Enzyme inducers (e.g., phenytoin, carbamazepine)
