Indication
Short-term treatment of severe anxiety.
Dosage (summary)
1.5-3 mg three times daily; max 12 mg/day for severe cases.

Onset: 2 hours, Duration: ~20 hours.

- Renal impairment
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Avoid in pregnancy and lactation; potential neonatal risks.

- Confusion

- Limit duration of treatment
- Monitor for signs of dependence
- Avoid alcohol and other sedatives
- Gradual dose reduction recommended
Serious warnings
- Risk of dependence and withdrawal symptoms
- May cause anterograde amnesia
- Not for primary treatment of depression
