    Indication

    Treatment of acute leukaemia in combination with other medicines.

    Dosage (summary)

    Adults/children: 2.5 mg/kg/day or 50-75 mg/mu00b2/day, adjusted per individual response.

    Special Populations

    • Renal impairment
    • Hepatic impairment
    • Elderly

    Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

    Avoid in pregnancy; excreted in breast milk, do not breastfeed.

    Key Drug Interactions

    • Allopurinol (reduce dose to 25%)
    • Ribavirin (not advised)
    • Methotrexate (adjust dose)

    Contraindications

    • Hypersensitivity to mercaptopurine
