    Indication

    Treatment of elevated intraocular pressure in glaucoma and ocular hypertension.

    Dosage (summary)

    1 drop in affected eye(s) 3 times daily as monotherapy; 2 times daily with beta-blockers.

    Special Populations

    • Paediatric population
    • Elderly
    • Renal impairment
    • Hepatic impairment

    Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

    Not recommended in pregnancy; unknown if excreted in breast milk.

    Key Drug Interactions

    • Timolol
    • Betaxolol
    • Oral carbonic anhydrase inhibitors

    Contraindications

    • Hypersensitivity to dorzolamide
    • Moderate to severe renal impairment

    Common side effects

    • Burning and stinging eyes
    • Conjunctivitis
    • Headache
    • Dizziness

    Counselling Points

    • Use with caution in patients with renal calculi history
    • Monitor for allergic reactions
    • Do not exceed 28 days after opening
