Indication

Dosage (summary)
40 mg once daily, may increase to 80 mg if needed.

Onset: 3 hours, Duration: 24 hours
Special Populations
- Elderly population: No adjustment needed
- Renal impairment: No adjustment for mild to moderate
- Hepatic impairment: Max 40 mg for mild to moderate
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Not recommended in pregnancy; discontinue if pregnancy occurs. Avoid in breastfeeding.
Key Drug Interactions
- Increased hypotensive effect with other antihypertensives
- Lithium toxicity risk
- NSAIDs may reduce antihypertensive effect
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to telmisartan
- History of angioedema
- Severe renal impairment
- Bilateral renal artery stenosis
- Severe hepatic impairment
