Indication
Short-term treatment of mild to moderate pain and fever.
Dosage (summary)
Adults >50 kg: 1 g (100 ml) up to 4 times daily; <50 kg: 15 mg/kg up to 4 times daily.
Onset of Action / Duration
Onset: 15 mins, Duration: 4-6 hours
Special Populations
- Renal impairment
- Hepatic impairment
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Use only if benefits outweigh risks; minimal excretion in breastmilk.
Key Drug Interactions
- Phenytoin may decrease efficacy and increase hepatotoxicity.
- Probenecid decreases clearance.
- Anticoagulants may alter INR values.
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to paracetamol.
- Severe hepatocellular insufficiency.
Common side effects
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Skin rash

- Do not exceed recommended dose.
- Monitor for signs of liver damage.
- Inform about potential skin reactions.
Serious warnings
- Risk of severe liver damage in overdose.
