Indication
Treatment of schizophrenia and related psychoses, behavioral disturbances in dementia, and disruptive behavior disorders in children.
Dosage (summary)
Adults: Start at 2 mg/day, increase to 4 mg/day on day 2; maintain 4-8 mg/day. Elderly: Start at 0.5 mg twice daily.

- Renal impairment
- Hepatic impairment
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Contraindicated in pregnancy and breastfeeding; may cause withdrawal symptoms in neonates.
Key Drug Interactions
- Caution with furosemide
- May antagonize levodopa
- Increased risk of QT prolongation with certain drugs

- Hypersensitivity to risperidone
