Dosage (summary)
5 IU IV infusion; adjust rate based on uterine response.

Likely safe in pregnancy; minimal excretion in breast milk.

- Hypersensitivity to oxytocin
- Foetal distress

- Uterine overstimulation
- Water intoxication
