Indication

Symptomatic treatment of inflammation and pain in osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

Dosage (summary)

200 mg daily for osteoarthritis; 100-200 mg twice daily for rheumatoid arthritis.

Special Populations

  • Elderly
  • Hepatic impairment
  • Renal impairment

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

Contraindicated in pregnancy and breastfeeding.

  • Warfarin
  • ACE-inhibitors
  • Diuretics

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to celecoxib
  • Severe hepatic impairment
  • Severe renal impairment
  • Asthma related to NSAIDs
  • Active peptic ulceration

Common side effects

  • Dizziness
  • Nausea
  • Hypertension
  • Rash

Counselling Points

  • Take with or without food.
  • Monitor for signs of gastrointestinal bleeding.
  • Avoid use with other NSAIDs.
