Indication

Dosage (summary)
1 capsule (0.5 mg) orally once daily.

Onset: 6 hours, Duration: 1 month
Special Populations
- Renal impairment
- Hepatic impairment
- Elderly
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Contraindicated in pregnancy and breastfeeding; teratogenic effects noted.

- Anti-dysrhythmic medicines
- Immunosuppressive therapies
- Beta blockers
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to fingolimod
- Recent myocardial infarction or stroke
- Severe cardiac dysrhythmias
- Pregnancy and lactation
Common side effects
- Headache
- Increased hepatic enzymes
- Diarrhoea
- Bradycardia
Counselling Points
- Monitor for signs of infection.
- Report any visual disturbances.
- Avoid live vaccines during and after treatment.
Serious warnings
- Risk of infections
- Progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML)
- Macular oedema
