Indication

Treatment of mild to moderate ulcerative proctitis.

Dosage (summary)

1 suppository (1 g) daily for acute treatment; 1 suppository three times weekly for maintenance.

Special Populations

  • Elderly
  • Renal impairment
  • Hepatic impairment

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

Use with caution; crosses placenta and excreted in breast milk.

  • Azathioprine
  • 6-mercaptopurine
  • Thioguanine

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to mesalazine
  • Severe liver impairment
  • Severe renal impairment
