Indication
Treatment of mild to moderate COVID-19 in adults at risk for severe illness.
Dosage (summary)
800 mg (four 200 mg capsules) every 12 hours for 5 days.
Onset of Action / Duration
Onset: within 5 days of symptom onset.
Special Populations
- Elderly
- Renal impairment
- Hepatic impairment
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Not recommended during pregnancy; potential fetal harm. Avoid breastfeeding during treatment and for 4 days after.
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to molnupiravir or excipients
Common side effects
- Diarrhoea
- Nausea
- Dizziness
Counselling Points
- Take as soon as possible after diagnosis.
- Do not double dose if missed.
