Dosage (summary)
Asthma: 5-20 u03bcg/min; Premature labour: 10-45 u03bcg/min.

- Patients with heart disease
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Safety in pregnancy and lactation not established.
Key Drug Interactions
- Beta-blockers
- Corticosteroids
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to salbutamol
- Threatened abortion
- Gestational age < 22 weeks
Common side effects
- Tremor
- Tachycardia
- Headache
- Nausea
- Muscle cramps
Counselling Points
- Monitor heart rate during treatment
- Dilute before administration
- Report any side effects
Serious warnings
- Potentially serious hypokalaemia
- Risk of myocardial ischaemia
- Monitor for pulmonary oedema
