    50 mg daily; adjust for renal impairment.

    • Renal impairment

    Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

    Contraindicated in pregnancy and lactation due to lack of clinical experience.

    Contraindications

    • Hypersensitivity to ibandronic acid
    • Hypocalcaemia
    • Oesophageal abnormalities
    • Inability to sit upright

    • Oesophagitis
    • Dyspepsia
    • Nausea

    Counselling Points

    • Take after overnight fast
    • Avoid lying down for 60 mins post-dose
    • Report any esophageal symptoms

    • Atypical femur fractures
    • Gastrointestinal irritation
