Indication
Essential hypertension, symptomatic CHF, left ventricular dysfunction post-MI.
Dosage (summary)
Initiate at 12.5 mg once daily for hypertension; CHF starts at 3.125 mg twice daily.
Special Populations
- Renal impairment
- Hepatic impairment
- Elderly
- Diabetic patients
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Not recommended in pregnancy; excreted in breast milk.

- NSAIDs
- Amiodarone
- Fluoxetine
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity
- Severe heart disease
- 2nd/3rd degree AV block
- Asthma
- COPD with bronchospasm

- Dizziness
- Headache
- Bradycardia
- Hypotension
- Nausea

- Take with food for CHF
- Monitor blood glucose in diabetics
- Do not stop abruptly
- Avoid driving if dizzy
Serious warnings
- Bradycardia
- Worsening heart failure
- Withdrawal syndrome
