Indication
Paracetamol overdosage.
Dosage (summary)
Initial: 150 mg/kg IV over 15 mins, then 50 mg/kg over 4 hours, followed by 100 mg/kg over 16 hours.

Safety in pregnancy not established.
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to any ingredient
Common side effects
- Rash
- Bronchospasm
- Anaphylactoid reactions
Counselling Points
- Monitor plasma potassium concentration
- Not compatible with rubber and metals
Serious warnings
- Ineffective after 15 hours post-overdose
- Risk of hepatic encephalopathy
