Indication

Treatment of invasive aspergillosis and serious fungal infections.

Dosage (summary)

Loading: 6 mg/kg IV every 12 hours for 24 hours; Maintenance: 3-4 mg/kg IV every 12 hours.

Special Populations

  • Elderly
  • Renal impairment
  • Hepatic impairment

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

Contraindicated in pregnancy; breastfeeding not recommended during treatment.

Key Drug Interactions

  • CYP3A4 substrates
  • Rifampicin
  • Carbamazepine
  • Phenobarbital
  • Efavirenz

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to voriconazole
  • Severe hepatic impairment
  • Prolonged QT syndrome

  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Rash
  • Liver function test abnormal

  • Avoid sun exposure
  • Monitor for visual disturbances
