Indication
Prevention of acute and delayed nausea and vomiting from chemotherapy.
Dosage (summary)
125 mg orally 1 hour before chemotherapy on Day 1, then 80 mg daily on Days 2 and 3.
Special Populations
- Renal impairment
- Hepatic impairment
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Safety in pregnancy not established; breastfeeding not recommended.
Key Drug Interactions
- CYP3A4 inhibitors
- CYP3A4 inducers
- Warfarin
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to aprepitant
- Concurrent use with pimozide, terfenadine, astemizole, cisapride
Common side effects
- Headache
- Fatigue
- Constipation
- Dizziness
Counselling Points
- Take with or without food
- Use non-hormonal contraception during and after treatment
Serious warnings
- Caution in severe hepatic impairment
- Monitor INR in warfarin patients
