Indication
Prevention of venous thromboembolism (VTE) in major orthopaedic surgery.
Dosage (summary)
10 mg once daily, starting 6-10 hours post-surgery.
Onset of Action / Duration
Onset: 2-4 hours, Duration: 5-13 hours

- Elderly
- Renal impairment
- Hepatic impairment
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Contraindicated in pregnancy; use caution in lactation.

- Strong CYP 3A4 inhibitors (e.g., ketoconazole, ritonavir)
- NSAIDs
- Antithrombotics

- Hypersensitivity to rivaroxaban
- Active bleeding
- Significant hepatic disease
- Pregnancy and lactation

- Anaemia
- Nausea
- Dizziness
- Haemorrhage
