Indication

Dosage (summary)
40 mg IV once daily for GORD; 80 mg bolus for bleeding ulcers.

- Renal impairment
- Hepatic impairment
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Caution in pregnancy; not recommended during breastfeeding.

- Nelfinavir
- Atazanavir
- Clopidogrel
- Warfarin
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to esomeprazole
- Concomitant use with nelfinavir and atazanavir
Common side effects
- Headache
- Abdominal pain
- Diarrhoea
- Nausea

- Monitor for signs of hypomagnesaemia
- Avoid use with clopidogrel
- Report any severe skin reactions
