Dosage (summary)
Adults <60 years: Initial 2.5 mg IV; Elderly: Initial 1.25 mg IV.

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Avoid in pregnancy and lactation; may cause fetal effects.

- Alcohol and CNS depressants
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to midazolam
- Severe hepatic impairment
- Respiratory insufficiency
- Myasthenia gravis

- Somnolence

Counselling Points
- Do not drive or operate machinery for 12 hours post-administration.
- Monitor for signs of overdose.
- Inform about potential for dependence.
