Indication

Short-term treatment of severe insomnia and anaesthetic premedication.

Dosage (summary)

Adults: 7.5 mg to 15 mg; Elderly: 7.5 mg.

Special Populations

  • Elderly
  • Hepatic impairment
  • Renal impairment

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

Avoid in pregnancy; may cause congenital malformations. Not recommended during lactation.

  • CYP3A inhibitors
  • CYP3A inducers
  • Alcohol and CNS depressants

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to benzodiazepines
  • Myasthenia gravis
  • Severe hepatic impairment
  • Children under 12 years
  • Respiratory insufficiency
