Dosage (summary)
Initial: 20 mg once daily; adjust based on withdrawal symptoms, usual maintenance: 60-120 mg/day.

- Elderly
- Renal impairment
- Hepatic impairment
- Hypothyroidism
- Prostatic hypertrophy
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding due to risks of respiratory depression and withdrawal in neonates.

Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to methadone
- Respiratory depression
- Acute asthma attack
- Severe hepatic impairment
