Dosage (summary)
Initial dose: 20 mg once daily, titrated to 60-120 mg/day.

- Elderly
- Renal impairment
- Hepatic impairment
- Hypothyroidism
- Prostatic hypertrophy
- Paediatric population
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding due to risks of neonatal withdrawal syndrome.

- Opiate antagonists
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to methadone
- Respiratory depression
- Acute asthma attack
- Acute alcoholism
- Severe hepatic impairment

- Avoid driving until stabilized.
