    Dosage (summary)

    Vildagliptin 50 mg twice daily; metformin based on current regimen.

    Special Populations

    • Renal impairment
    • Hepatic impairment

    Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

    Safety not established; contraindicated in breastfeeding.

    Key Drug Interactions

    • NSAIDs may increase lactic acidosis risk
    • Cimetidine may increase metformin levels

    Contraindications

    • GFR < 30 mL/min
    • Hepatic impairment
    • Severe renal impairment
    • Diabetic ketoacidosis
